These old stone ruins crumbling away on a small hill are all that remains of the communitiy of Strangways that was built in the 1880's to service the OTL (Overland Telegraph Line). It would have been a very hard existance here, out in South Australia's arid and remote north - even the mound springs that supported this community appear to have all but dried up!

Whilst shooting this magic dawn light the only sound breaking the desert silence were the chilling dingo howls echoing across the plains.
