The 'super moon' (which is the largest the moon appears for the year as it's closest proximity to earth) sinks in the western sky amidst a spectacular array of mid level cumulus tufts. One positive about shooting dawn images in mid winter is that you don't have to get up as early as in summer, but this generally comes with a temperature and discomfort 'cost'. Needless to say it is always worth it and a great start to the day when you get to experience moments in time such as this.
