I love to research places and their unique climatic conditions in order to attempt to be able to photograph them in a special way. This was another examnple. I had cmaped up in the Strzelecki ranges of Gippsland during a real polar blast that was set to bring snow down to 600m ASL. As it turned out it snowed on and off all night with howling gales. I awoke to find it relatively calm and about 15cm cover. The snow showers continued to fall during the morning transforming the rainforest into a magical scene.
