The Mitchell river is the last truly wild river in Victoria, running all the way from the highplains of the Great Dividing range to the sea unimpeded by man. On this particular day a deep low pressure system had developed over eastern Bass Strait driving in cloudbands dumping hundred's of millimetres of flooding rains. Whilst 7C degrees, wiond and pouring rain is not ideal conditions to be out walking and doing photography, it does make for a unique image. |
