It was a hot summer's day in the outback and I saw this little bit of convection going up that may track through a target area that I knew of from previous trips. So I raced off the 30km's through windy bush tracks just in case... By the time I got there and it was almost above. This wasn't the spot to shoot either as I had to run over a few dunes and up this big one to get the composition you see here. I set my gear up as fast as I could as it was bearing down fast! I only got a few minutes shooting then copped a direct hit! With nowhere to hide or shelter it was just a matter of crouching down and turning backs to it, getting pounded and sandblasted (winds were 70-80km/h). The temperature dropped from 38C to the 20's in a matter of minutes. Walking back to car drenched and caked in wet sand yet very satisfied with the adrenilan still flowing.
