Some sunrises have a unique power to them, this one was such an occasion. It is very rare that I shoot towards or with the sun in the composition, but on this particular morning I couldn't resist. I composed my 6x17 film camera precariously overhanging the rock platform in between set waves and after several attempts at composing it I finally fired this shot off before quickly retreating away from the next big wave.
