I am still speechless when I view this image. I shot this very early on Sunday the 9th of February 2009, just 36hrs after the deadly BLACK SATURDAY bushfires ripped through Victoria - taking 173 lives and shocking the entire nation in disbelief and grief. I had spent a lot of time in this area and forest over the years. For months I was brought to tears as I returned fortnightly to photograph and document the natural side of the tragedy.
